Basic Principles I (Basic Principles II III)

1. Triplicity

Information related to any particular field of study can be defined by a trinary (three-fold) system of polarities, called Triplicities. Triplicities are visually represented by simple graphic images called "Geometries". Geometries are composed of three shapes, the triangle, circle and square, connected by arrows (see Diagram 1).

The shapes are so chosen because they are universally recognised symbols, found in many cultures and traditions around the world that deal with knowledge.

The arrows are placed in such a way that they can depict either the sequence of events in a particular process, or the spatial relationships between the elements within a Triplicity.

The shapes can be placed in various positions that help illustrate the sequences of events in these processes, or the spatial relationships between the elements within these Triplicities (see Diagram 2).

Arrows represent the direction of flow during the process, or the direction of hierarchical influence elements within the Triplicity have over the others.

2. Unity

Geometries representing a framework of information, or a supject area, each consisting of Triangle, Circle and Square, can be connected to various other geometries that share similar sequences of events or spatial relationships.

For example, the Triangle polarity of one particular Triplicity can be related to the Triangle polarity of another Triplicity of the same Geometry, the Circle polarity of one with another, and so on, establishing a relationship between other Geometries by virtue of possessing identical structure, or a "Unity".

To summarise, in this case using the example shown in Diagram 3, a Triplicity is formed only by the vertical connections, and a Unity is only formed by the horizontal connections.

Geometries are Unified through structure

This connection of Geometries through Unity symbolically represents a direct and relevent linking together of different frameworks of information, integrating seemingly disparate fields of study together into complex, multi-disciplinary systems (see Diagram 4), that are easy to comprehend.

Triplex Unity Theory is a way of thinking about things. By thinking within the Triplex structure this theory provides, one will find it easier to learn and understand new information, and by applying the notion of Unity to these understandings, the ability to recognise the inter-relatedness between systems and process in the real world will become much clearer (see Diagram 5).

Remembering that in this example, Triplicities are formed by the vertical connections, and Unities are formed by the horizontal connecetions, we can see in Diagram 4 an illustration of 9 Triplicities, or 9 different subject areas, all related to each other by virtue of them sharing the same three-fold internal structure, or Geometry.

Various disciplines are all related through Unity

Meta-Tasking (multi-tasking at a higher level).

One of the several goals of the Theory is to be able to interlink, or combine several different fields and use them simultaneously to achieve whatever tasks necessary. Abilities gained from one field can be seamlessly transferred and applied to other fields, so they they appear to help each other, and also allow the individual to function at higher and more complex capacities .

Diagram 5 is but one small example that illustrates this idea. The skills one learns in martial arts, for example, can be applied to your gameplay in the game of chess. The techniques one learns in trading, or business, can therefore benefit from the strategic thinking you have developed through playing chess and practicing martial arts. By understanding Triplex Unity Theory, one could quite easily become highly proficient in all 4 of these fields of endeavour, or more, without over-taxing one's mental capacity to function.

Through sharing identical three-fold internal structure, various subjects are closely related to each other.
